30.01.25, Bhubaneswar: The first session of the second day of the two-day Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha conclave-2025 was held at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on the topic ‘Agri and Food Processing Industry – An Ecosystem for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth in Odisha’.

A total of 17 MoUs were signed during the session and investors have agreed to invest around Rs 1279 crore.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Energy, Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo emphasized the importance of building a prosperous Odisha to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat. He highlighted the need to establish organic farming, climate-resilient agriculture, and a robust food processing industry. Singh Deo urged entrepreneurs to invest in Odisha, especially in the agriculture and allied sectors, to make the state a leading example of growth.

Minister of Fisheries and Animal Research Development, MSME Shri Gokulananda Mallick echoed this sentiment, noting Odisha’s impressive performance in agriculture, vegetables, and spices. He emphasized that further investment would strengthen the state’s agrarian potential.

Minister of Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water, and Rural Development, Shri Rabinarayan Naik praised the efforts of the Odisha Livelihood Mission (ORMAS) in boosting the rural economy. He called on entrepreneurs to contribute to further strengthening these initiatives.

During the event, the guests unveiled a brochure on cold storage, marking the implementation of a scheme to open 58 cold storage facilities. The state government also signed MoUs with 17 companies, paving the way for an investment of Rs 1289 crore. A coffee table book on Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) was also released.

Under the Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana (MKUY), entrepreneurs can receive up to a 50 percent subsidy for setting up various businesses and enterprises.

The session commenced with a welcome address by Principal Secretary of Agriculture, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, and concluded with a vote of thanks from Director of Agriculture, Shri Prem Chandra Chaudhary. Director of Horticulture, Mr. Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, and Director of Industries, Dr. Prashant Kumar Reddy, were also in attendance.
