Bhubaneswar,31.01.2025: Jupiter International is strengthening its presence in the renewable energy sector with a significant new project in Odisha. The company has signed an agreement with the Odisha government to establish a solar cell and module manufacturing unit, investing Rs 2,005 crore in the initiative.
The facility will be developed through its subsidiary, Jupiter Renewables, and is designed to enhance India’s solar manufacturing capacity. It will have an annual production capability of 4.2 GW for solar cells and 3.6 GW for modules, contributing to the country’s clean energy transition. The memorandum of understanding was formalized at the Utkarsh Odisha- Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 in Bhubaneswar, emphasizing Odisha’s emerging role as a hub for renewable energy investments.
Alok Garodia, Managing Director of Jupiter International, expressed confidence in the project’s impact. “This facility will help build a strong and sustainable supply chain, supporting India’s goal of achieving energy security through clean power,” he said.
This initiative aligns with Jupiter International’s broader expansion strategy. Over the next three years, the company aims to reach a production capacity of 3 GW for wafers, 9.4 GW for solar cells, and 6 GW for solar modules, strengthening India’s renewable energy infrastructure.
