Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, organized a month-long road safety awareness campaign in Jharsuguda and Kalahandi, Odisha. The initiative aimed to promote safe road habits among employees, business partners, and local communities, positively impacting over 12,000 people. Through engaging activities, the company encouraged responsible driving practices and emphasized the importance of road safety in daily life.
In Jharsuguda, the campaign featured a Nukkad Natak (street play), quiz competitions, and interactive training sessions for drivers. A special medical camp was also conducted to check the health of drivers, ensuring they were fit for the road. Government officials, including the Collector, Regional Transport Officer, and Superintendent of Police, actively participated in the event, reinforcing the need for collective efforts in promoting road safety.
Similarly, in Lanjigarh, Kalahandi, over 500 employees and business partners joined a Safety March, took a road safety oath, and watched a powerful street play on safe driving. Awareness sessions were also held for more than 1,000 villagers from 10 different communities. The company recognized and honored responsible drivers and traffic controllers, appreciating their efforts in maintaining road discipline.
Through this road safety initiative, Vedanta Aluminium has demonstrated the power of awareness and collaboration in making roads safer for everyone.
