Rourkela Steel Plant’s Hot Strip Mill-II (HSM-II) has once again shown its strength by achieving a new production milestone. In January 2025, the mill produced 2,47,493 tonnes of coil, 2,53,680 tonnes of slab rolling. This surpasses its previous best of 2,39,350 tonnes of slab rolling and 2,35,934 tonnes of coil, recorded in October 2024. The achievement highlights the plant’s steady improvements in efficiency and teamwork.
To celebrate this success, senior executives visited the HSM-II department and congratulated the team. The visit was led by Alok Verma, along with Tarun Mishra (Executive Director, Human Resources), Bishwa Ranjan Palai (Executive Director, Operations), Sudip Pal Choudhury (Executive Director, Projects), and Siddharth Banerjee (CGM, Sales & SRM). Their presence showed the importance of the achievement and the hard work behind it.
Mr. Burma, expressing his happiness, praised the dedication and teamwork of the HSM-II department. He also thanked all the supporting teams for their contribution. Tarun Mishra encouraged the team to aim even higher in the coming months, while Bishwa Ranjan Palai called HSM-II a true success story. Sudip Pal Choudhury appreciated the excellent work of the maintenance and production teams, crediting them for this achievement.
This milestone once again proves the strength of Rourkela Steel Plant and its commitment to excellence, setting the stage for even greater success in the future.
