Rayagada, 18.02.2025: The Anil Agarwal Foundation (AAF) has partnered with the Rayagada district administration in Odisha to improve early childhood care and women’s welfare. They signed an agreement to change 100 Anganwadi centers into modern “Nand Ghars,” focusing on the well-being of children and women.
The ceremony to sign the agreement was attended by important officials like Ms. Parul Patawari, the Collector of Rayagada, and Smt. Minati Deo, the District Social Welfare Officer. Their presence highlighted the importance of the project.
In the first phase, 15 Anganwadi centers in the Kashipur block will be upgraded. This is just the beginning, and more centers in other areas will be improved later. These upgrades will create better places for children to grow and support women in the community.
Smt. Minati Deo thanked everyone for the project, saying that Nand Ghars are not just places for development, but spaces that help both children and women grow in all aspects. She also mentioned how it would empower the community.
Sunil Gupta, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium, said the company is committed to supporting long-term growth for the community, and the Nand Ghar project is a key part of their mission to help local communities.
Started in 2015, the Nand Ghar project offers services like early education, nutritious food, healthcare, and skills programs for women. Over 500 Nand Ghars are already running in Odisha, helping thousands of children and women. The partnership with Rayagada is an important step towards building a healthier and brighter future for the next generation in the area.
