Bhubaneswar, February 24, 2025: In a significant push towards improving rural healthcare, Vedanta Aluminium has extended its Mobile Health Unit (MHU) services to Kashipur block in Odisha’s Rayagada district, reinforcing its role in bridging the healthcare gap for underserved communities. The expansion aims to reach 21 additional villages, providing critical medical support to nearly 10,000 people who lack easy access to healthcare facilities.
Dr. Netrananda Nayak, Head of the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Kashipur, emphasized the impact of this initiative, stating, “Vedanta’s efforts in delivering doorstep healthcare will greatly benefit thousands in this region. By providing essential medical services and raising awareness, this initiative fosters a healthier and more informed community.”
Beyond healthcare, Vedanta Aluminium’s community-driven approach spans multiple development sectors, including education, rural infrastructure, and sustainable livelihoods. The company’s Mobile Health Units, staffed by medical professionals, offer free consultations, diagnostic tests, and essential medicines, ensuring that healthcare is accessible to the most remote areas. This initiative aligns with Vedanta’s broader mission to drive holistic social progress in Odisha, making a tangible difference in the lives of tribal and rural populations.
