Hindustan Power has signed an agreement with the Assam government to invest Rs 620 crore in solar and battery energy storage projects. This investment will help build a 100-MW solar power plant and a 100-MW battery storage system, making Assam’s energy supply more reliable and eco-friendlier.
The project will also create over 5,000 man-days of employment, providing job opportunities and boosting the local economy. Hindustan Power has been supporting Assam’s renewable energy growth since 2016 when it set up the state’s first large solar power plant. With this new investment, the company aims to strengthen Assam’s clean energy sector further.
Chairman Ratul Puri said that Assam has great potential for renewable energy, and the company is excited to be a part of its journey. He added that Hindustan Power is committed to helping the state achieve its clean energy goals and contribute to a greener future.
