Koraput, 20.03.2025: In a significant move to strengthen healthcare services in Koraput, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has reinforced its commitment to medical infrastructure development. As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, NALCO is actively supporting Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College & Hospital, along with several rural healthcare initiatives in the region.
On Wednesday, Niranjan Samal, Executive Director of NALCO, handed over a cheque of Rs 10.10 crore to Koraput Collector V. Keerthi Vasan, IAS, in the presence of Asutosh Rath and Prof. (Dr.) Susanta Kumar Sahu, Superintendent-cum-Dean Principal of the hospital. This funding, facilitated through the Nalco Foundation, will be used to enhance hospital facilities by procuring essential and advanced medical equipment to improve patient care.
Beyond this contribution, NALCO continues to prioritize healthcare through its mobile medical units, which provide crucial services to remote and underserved villages. In the Damanjodi sector, these units serve 163 inaccessible villages and adjacent hamlets, while in the Pottangi sector, they cater to 48 peripheral villages.
With these initiatives, NALCO is not only improving hospital infrastructure but also ensuring better access to healthcare for marginalized communities in Koraput.
