Bhubaneswar: Odisha has taken a significant leap forward in its infrastructure development journey with the approval of two pivotal projects worth Rs. 335.77 crore during the High-Power Committee’s (HPC) first meeting for FY 2024-25. The session, chaired by Development Commissioner Anu Garg, marked a major milestone in advancing industrial and urban growth across the state.
The HPC, under the aegis of the SIDBI Cluster Development Fund (SCDF) and Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF), brought together senior officials from various departments, including Finance, Industries, Works, and Municipal Administration, alongside representatives from SIDBI and NHB.
One of the headline initiatives includes the establishment of a state-of-the-art 10 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) and a 30 MLD Deep Sea Discharge facility in Paradip. These projects, expected to modernize industrial facilities and ensure sustainable practices, represent a substantial investment in Odisha’s industrial backbone.
In Gopalpur, Ganjam, the approval of a groundbreaking Rs. 173.02 crore Common Utility Corridor is set to redefine infrastructure support for the Gopalpur Industrial Park. This first-of-its-kind initiative in Odisha aims to cater to the growing demands of both existing and prospective industries in the region.
The committee also reviewed the progress of ongoing SCDF projects, calling for enhanced efficiency in implementation and timely reimbursement claims. Furthermore, discussions encouraged departments to propose new infrastructure projects under the UIDF to bolster urban development statewide.
With these transformative projects on the horizon, Odisha continues to lay the groundwork for a resilient and sustainable infrastructure ecosystem.
