Bhubaneswar 10/06/2025: Vedanta has played a key role in changing the healthcare situation in Kalahandi, one of Odisha’s most remote and underdeveloped districts. With its support, the MSJK (Maa Santoshi Jana Kalyan) Hospital near Lanjigarh has become a trusted health centre for thousands of people who earlier had little or no access to medical care.
Back in 2000, Vedanta started supporting MSJK Hospital to improve basic health services for local villages. But a real turning point came in 2016 when Vedanta entered into a full partnership with the hospital. Since then, the hospital has grown from serving just 70 villages to reaching over 300 villages across 15 panchayats, helping more than 25,000 people every year.
Thanks to Vedanta, MSJK Hospital now provides better medical care close to people’s homes. Pregnant women receive proper attention, children get regular vaccinations, and patients with diseases like malaria, diarrhoea, rabies, and sickle cell anaemia receive timely treatment. Vedanta’s support has made healthcare more accessible, especially for those who earlier had to travel far for help.
Vedanta has also helped the hospital run mobile health units that take doctors and nurses directly to remote villages. Emergency services have improved too, with ambulances now available for quick response. Through its partnership with MSJK Hospital, Vedanta is bringing quality healthcare to the doorstep of people in rural Lanjigarh, showing its strong commitment to community well-being.
