Bhubaneswar, 10/07/2025: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s biggest aluminium producer, turned the Rath Yatra 2025 celebrations into a large-scale community event across Odisha, connecting over 5 lakh people. The company didn’t just support the celebrations, it actively organized and participated in them to help preserve the culture, spread joy and happiness together,
This year, the company arranged events at its sites in Lanjigarh and Jharsuguda, as well as in cities like Puri. The highlight was not only the spiritual and cultural significance but also Vedanta’s efforts to make the event inclusive and engaging for employees, families and local communities.
To give people a comfortable experience during the festival, Vedanta created rest zones with shaded seating, cool drinks, and scented air (using sandalwood and camphor) to help beat the summer heat. These resting ares welcomed thousands of devotees who came to watch the chariot processions of Lord Jagannatha, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
One of the main attractions was Mahaprasad and Bhajan Sandhya Sessions, traditional meals and devotional singing that brought everyone together in the spirit of celebration.
Vedanta also added its own special touch by organizing cultural events and awareness activities. In Lanjigarh, the company ran a campaign which included storytelling and performances focused on social values and the teachings of Lord Jagannath. In Jharsuguda, the “Devta ki Daya ka Rath Yatra” event highlighted kindness and service as key messages from the festival.
Employees, their families, and local residents joined hands in organizing the festivities. Many also took part in the chariot pulling, one of the most important rituals of the Rath Yatra.
Rajiv Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Vedanta Aluminium, said, “At Vedanta, we believe in nurturing harmony and building strong community ties. Our Rath Yatra celebrations were designed to bring joy and spiritual unity to everyone, including our employees and local people.”
The celebrations were more than just rituals—they were moments of shared joy, teamwork, and connection. The Rath Yatra ended with the return journeys of the deities in the Bahuda Yatra and Niladri Bije processions, which were also observed with great devotion at Vedanta’s sites.
By supporting and participating in festivals like Rath Yatra, Vedanta Aluminium continues to show its commitment to cultural heritage and community bonding—proving that business and tradition can walk hand in hand for the greater good.
