Bhubaneswar, Odisha; 9th September 2025 – Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, has further strengthened its commitment to rural education in Odisha by organizing a large-scale teachers’ orientation program for the Lakhanpur block. The program was held at Mahima Degree College, Bijapali, in association with the Block Education Department, and drew participation from more than 650 elementary school teachers.
The orientation program was designed with the dual objective of upskilling teachers and strengthening the education ecosystem in rural communities. The sessions covered a wide range of topics, from lesson and classroom planning to effective use of technology in teaching, enabling teachers to keep pace with modern pedagogical methods. Practical training in disaster response, first aid, and health safety measures was also provided, ensuring that teachers are better prepared to handle emergencies within and beyond the classroom.
The event was conducted in an interactive format, encouraging teachers to actively engage, share their experiences, and exchange innovative ideas to address challenges faced in grassroots education. This participatory approach not only enhanced the value of the training but also built a sense of community among educators working in different schools across the block. At the conclusion of the program, teachers were awarded certificates in recognition of their participation and commitment to continuous learning.
The orientation was attended by key education officials including Sashmita Sahu, Joint Director of OSEPA, and Amulya Kumar Padhan, Regional Director of DHSE, Sambalpur. In his address, Padhan commended Vedanta Aluminium for its proactive role in advancing rural education. He emphasized that collaborations between industry and the education sector are vital for making learning more inclusive, impactful, and accessible in underserved regions.
