Bhubaneswar, 6th December 2025: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of Aluminium, has reinforced its commitment to early childhood well-being with the launch of Shishu Sanjeevani, a fortified nutritional supplement programme across 25 Anganwadi centres in Kashipur and Bhawanipatna, benefitting more than 600 children aged 3 to 6 years.

Developed by National Dairy Development Board, Shishu Sanjeevani is enriched with essential micronutrients aligned with the ICMR-NIN guidelines, ensuring safe and consistent nutritional intake under the supervision of Anganwadi workers. This initiative aims to strengthen the nutritional foundation of children during their formative years, reducing malnutrition and supporting holistic growth.

This programme complements Vedanta’s flagship Nand Ghar initiative, launched in 2015 under the aegis of the Anil Agarwal Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Women & Child Development. Through Nand Ghars, Vedanta has modernised Anganwadi infrastructure nationwide, creating safe and well-equipped early learning spaces. In Odisha alone, 531 Nand Ghars provide preschool education, nutritious meals and take-home rations, basic healthcare through Auxiliary Nurse Midwives, and skill-building programmes for women.
Rajiv Kumar, CEO, Vedanta Aluminium, said, “This initiative reflects our commitment to strengthening early childhood nutrition and supporting holistic community development. Through this effort, we align with the nationwide vision of Rashtriya Poshan Maah, ensuring children receive strong foundations in health and education for a brighter future.”

Jyotsana Barik, Child Development Program Officer, Kashipur, Raygada, said, “This initiative has been very helpful for the children. The laddoos are nutritious and the children enjoy them, and we feel reassured that they are receiving proper nutrition at the Anganwadi”.

Vedanta Aluminium remains committed to driving transformation in its operational areas through social impact initiatives spanning education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, rural infrastructure, and grassroots sports and culture. Collaborating closely with local authorities and community stakeholders, the company ensures its interventions lead to tangible socio-economic progress in its operational areas.

Vedanta Aluminium, a business of Vedanta Limited, is India’s largest producer of aluminium, manufacturing more than half of India’s aluminium i.e., 2.42 million tonnes in FY25. It is a leader in value-added aluminium products that find critical applications in core industries. Vedanta Aluminium ranks 2nd in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2024 world rankings for the aluminium industry, a reflection of its leading sustainable development practices. With its world-class aluminium smelters, alumina refinery and power plants in India, the company fulfils its mission of spurring emerging applications of aluminium as the ‘Metal of the Future’ for a greener tomorrow.
