Bhubaneswar, February 18: Taking Suo Motu Cognizance, the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety (SCCoRS) has expressed concern over an accident that claimed five lives and injured six others at Haladiapadar on NH 16 in Ganjam district on January 31, 2026.
SCCoRS has sought answers from Odisha Chief Secretary on the deadly accident that killed five persons and cause critical injury to six others by March 5.
The Supreme Court committee also desires that the Odisha Government should take necessary steps to prevent the occurrence of similar accidents due to the poor enforcement of traffic laws and over speeding/ wrong side driving etc.
For those who are unknown, five persons had died and six others were left critically injured when a truck ran over three two-wheelers in Odisha’s Ganjam District at Haldiapadar on NH-16.
