Bhubaneswar, Odisha, 02/01/2025: Rajib Sekhar Sahoo, a highly regarded financial expert and chartered accountant, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Odisha State Council. His appointment is expected to bring strong leadership and strategic vision to the council at a time when Odisha is emerging as a key destination for industrial growth and investment.
Sahoo, the principal partner at SRB & Associates, one of India’s leading chartered accountancy firms, has built a distinguished career with extensive experience in banking, finance, and corporate governance. Known for his sharp insights into business and industry, he has long been recognized as a trusted advisor to both government and private enterprises. According to industry observers, his leadership at ICC Odisha is expected to strengthen the state’s investment climate and foster greater engagement with national and global stakeholders.
At present, Sahoo holds several prominent positions in both the public and private sectors. He serves as an independent director at Indraprastha Gas Limited, SICOM Limited, and Kalinga Hospitals Limited, while also serving as a director at the Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd (OSCSC Ltd). He is actively involved with various important committees, including the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPF), the Laxmanrao Inamdar National Academy for Cooperative Research and Development (NCDC), and the Company Law Standing Committee.
In addition, he plays a pivotal role as an independent trustee of the Odisha Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (OUIDF) and is a member of the Fee Structure Committee for Professional Educational Institutions in Odisha, appointed by the Supreme Court of India. His earlier responsibilities include serving as a trustee at Paradip Port Trust and director positions at Andhra Bank, NTPC Limited, Hindustan Zinc Limited, and Bank of Baroda.
Sahoo’s professional journey also includes contributions to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), where he was co-opted as a member of the Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Pension for the Council Year 2014–15. Beyond finance, he has been actively engaged with entrepreneurial initiatives, having served as the president of the Bhubaneswar Chapter of The Indus Entrepreneur (TiE), a global network of entrepreneurs headquartered in Silicon Valley, USA.
His appointment as Chairman of ICC Odisha comes at a crucial juncture when the state is attracting significant industrial and infrastructure investments. Sahoo has consistently played an advisory role in guiding government organizations on economic development strategies and has been instrumental in scaling up corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives across Odisha and the country.
