Sambalpur, 07.01.2025: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, while attending a Chamber of Commerce meeting in Sambalpur on Sunday, said that plans must be made to use Sambalpur’s vast potential to turn the district into a hub for industries and businesses. He described Sambalpur as a city rich in art, culture, and ancient heritage.
The main economy of Sambalpur is based on trade and commerce. To meet the needs of the district, it’s important to not only focus on industries but also improve the daily lives of the local people. This includes better access to drinking water, healthcare, education, jobs, and better roads.
The Chamber of Commerce has played an important role in creating a business-friendly environment, supporting industrial growth, and strengthening the local economy. The state and central governments are working together on several projects, such as developing the old Ayodhya Sagar reservoir under the ‘Riverfront Development Project.’
Work is also being done to renovate the Hirakud Dam. Efforts are ongoing to improve tourism in Sambalpur, including boosting facilities at Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary, to attract more visitors. The Chamber of Commerce is expected to support these initiatives.
Dharmendra Pradhan said that the Chamber must take the lead in making Sambalpur a modern, industrial city in the 21st century.
