New Delhi, 25.07.2025: In a significant step towards bolstering India’s domestic manufacturing capabilities in copper based applications, Adani Enterprises Ltd, the flagship company of the Adani Group, has entered into a strategic partnership with MetTube, a subsidiary of the UK-headquartered Metdist Group. The collaboration aims to create a future-ready copper tube ecosystem in India, aligned with the country’s goals of industrial self-reliance, energy efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure development.
As part of this dual structured agreement, Adani Enterprises will divest a 50per cent stake in its wholly owned subsidiary, Kutch Copper Tubes Limited (KTCL), to MetTube. At the same time, Adani will acquire a 50 per cent equity stake in Met Tube Copper India Private Limited, a unit currently fully owned by MetTube and operating a copper tube manufacturing facility near Ahmadabad, Gujarat.
This equal-ownership model is designed to promote shared governance, long-term alignment, and mutual commitment to innovation. The collaboration will focus on producing high-performance copper tubes primarily for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), renewable energy systems, and smart construction projects — all of which are experiencing surging demand due to rapid urbanisation and the increasing push for climate-responsive infrastructure in India.
“This partnership with MetTube represents a strategic leap toward making India self-reliant in copper tube manufacturing,” said Jeet Adani, Director, Adani Group. “We are combining Adani’s infrastructure and operational scale with MetTube’s decades of global expertise in precision copper tube manufacturing. Together, we are not just building capacity—we are building capability.”
The initiative comes at a critical time as India seeks to reduce its dependence on imported copper tubes, which currently account for a significant portion of supply in sectors like air conditioning, refrigeration, and plumbing. These applications are essential in both residential and industrial infrastructure, and demand is only expected to grow in the coming years.
Adani Enterprises has already invested in creating a forward-integrated copper ecosystem anchored by its 0.5 million tonnes per annum copper refinery in Mundra, Gujarat. KCTL, the subsidiary in which MetTube will now hold a 50 per cent stake, forms a key part of this ecosystem. By integrating backward and forward linkages—from refining raw copper to manufacturing value-added products like copper tubes—Adani aims to streamline the supply chain and reduce input costs for Indian manufacturers.
MetTube, for its part, brings deep technical expertise and global market experience to the table. As part of the Metdist Group, which has a long-standing legacy in non-ferrous metals, MetTube has a proven track record in delivering high-quality copper tubes to international markets.

According to the joint statement, the synergy between the two companies will enable speed, scalability, and technological innovation in the copper tube segment. Their combined strengths are expected to position the new entity as a leader in supplying high-performance copper products not only for domestic consumption but eventually for export markets as well.
Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. However, both companies underscored the long-term strategic importance of the deal. By localizing production and building a robust copper tube ecosystem, the partnership is poised to support India’s broader green infrastructure and energy transition goals.
The collaboration marks a key milestone in the evolution of India’s non-ferrous metals industry, and it signals a growing trend of global-local partnerships focused on advanced manufacturing and sustainability.
