Bhawanipatna, 21.04.2025: Art can do more than just look nice—it can help children learn, express themselves, and feel proud of who they are. This was seen during a recent art workshop held at Eklavya Model Residential School in Thuamul Rampur, a tribal area in Kalahandi district.
The event was organised by Vedanta’s Sijimali Bauxite team to teach students about Saura art, a traditional tribal art form of Odisha. Over 120 students took part in the workshop, which was led by teachers from Kalahandi College of Art and Research.
The children had a great time learning how to draw and paint using Saura art styles. They created colourful pictures showing daily life and stories from their culture. Many students discovered their hidden talents and felt more confident about their abilities.
Headmaster Satya Prakash Satya said, “We are thankful to Vedanta Aluminium for organising this workshop. It helped our students connect with their culture and become more creative.”
Vedanta’s Bauxite Mines COO, Nitin Tiwari, said, “We want children in tribal areas to grow with knowledge and pride. Through art and other activities, we hope to support their dreams and skills.”
Vedanta is working in many areas like education, health, jobs, and culture. Its programs have helped over 1.5 lakh people in Kalahandi and around 5 lakh people across Odisha.
This art event is one small step in helping students learn, grow, and feel proud of their roots.
