New Delhi, 09/01/2025: The Hockey India League (HIL) 2024/25 is set to be the biggest and most rewarding season yet, with a prize pool of over Rs 10 crores. This year, top men’s and women’s hockey teams will compete fiercely for big prizes.
In the Men’s HIL, the winning team will receive Rs 3 crore, the second-place team will get Rs 2 crore, and the third-place team will earn Rs 1 crore. For the Women’s HIL, the champions will win Rs 1.5 crore, the runners-up will get Rs 1 crore, and the third-place team will earn Rs 50 lakh.
In addition to team prizes, individual players will also be rewarded for their performances. The ‘Player of the Match’ in both men’s and women’s games will get Rs 50,000 each. The ‘Player of the Tournament’ in both leagues will receive Rs 20 lakh each. There are also individual awards for the best goalkeeper, best upcoming player, and top scorer. The men’s league winners will get Rs 10 lakh each, while the women’s league winners will receive Rs 5 lakh each.
This edition will have 8 men’s teams and 4 women’s teams, offering fast and exciting hockey action. The men’s league started on December 28, 2024, in Rourkela, with the final in February 2025. The women’s league will begin on January 12, 2025, in Ranchi, with the final on January 26, 2025. Some matches will be held at different venues across India, allowing fans from all over the country to enjoy the games.
