Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has reported strong financial growth, with its net profit rising by 14% in the quarter ending December 31, 2024. The company’s profit increased to Rs 3,359 crore from Rs 2,947 crore in the same period last year. Its revenue also grew by 17% to Rs 64,668 crore, driven by a strong order book and faster project execution.
To strengthen its leadership, L&T has appointed Subramanian Sarma as Deputy Managing Director and President, effective April 2, 2025. His term has been extended until February 3, 2028, pending approval from shareholders. Sarma has over 40 years of experience, including 30 years in the Middle East, and has played a key role in L&T’s Energy business. Under his leadership, the company became one of the top three EPC contractors in the Oil & Gas sector in the Middle East for four years in a row.
Sarma, a Chemical Engineering graduate with a master’s degree from IIT Mumbai, previously led a major EPC company before joining L&T’s board in 2015. He expressed gratitude for the new role and is eager to contribute to L&T’s long-term vision. With strong financial performance and an experienced leadership team, L&T is set for continued growth and expansion.
