Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won its biggest-ever offshore project from QatarEnergy LNG. This contract strengthens L&T’s reputation as a top engineering and construction company worldwide.
The project is part of QatarEnergy’s North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Compression Project (NFPS COMP 4). L&T will handle everything from design to installation for two large offshore compression complexes. These facilities, located 80 km off Qatar’s coast, will include platforms with power units, living quarters, and other key infrastructure.
L&T did not share the exact value of the contract, but the company considers “ultra-mega” contracts to be those above Rs 15,000 crore. This is a big achievement, showing L&T’s expertise in large offshore projects. L&T’s Chairman, SN Subrahmanyan, called it a proud moment and thanked QatarEnergy for their trust.
Subramanian Sarma, another top executive at L&T, said this project proves the company’s ability to handle complex offshore developments. After the announcement, L&T’s stock price rose slightly. This deal strengthens L&T’s position as a major player in the global energy industry.
