Bhubaneswar,30.01.2025: The Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 has ended on a high note, bringing new opportunities for the state’s growth. Over two days, industry leaders, global delegates, investors, and policymakers came together to discuss Odisha’s future as an investment destination. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the event and expressed his strong support for Odisha, calling it “the best and an excellent place for investment.” His encouragement has strengthened the state’s vision of Samrudh Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047.
The conclave received a huge response, with 145 agreements (MoUs) signed, securing ₹12.89 lakh crore in investments across industries like chemicals, textiles, mining, renewable energy, IT, tourism, and food processing. These investments are expected to create 8.94 lakh jobs in the state. Additionally, 448 investment proposals worth ₹3.84 lakh crore were received, with a potential to generate 3.92 lakh jobs. In total, Odisha secured 593 projects worth ₹16.73 lakh crore, promising 12.88 lakh new job opportunities across 20+ sectors.
Delegates from over 16 countries, including partner nations Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia, participated, boosting Odisha’s global presence. The event featured discussions on various industries like textiles, renewable energy, women entrepreneurship, tourism, food processing, healthcare, and start-ups. The “Skilled in Odisha” session focused on preparing youth for jobs in new industries, while other discussions highlighted sustainability, green technologies, and women-led businesses.
To allow more people, especially students, to explore Odisha’s growth journey, the exhibition has been extended until January 31, 2025. The government thanked all partners, including Industries Department, IPICOL, IDCO, CII (National Partner), PwC (Knowledge Partner), and the media, for making the event a success. With such strong industrial and economic progress, Odisha is moving closer to becoming a key contributor to Viksit Bharat 2047.
