Kalahandi (Odisha), January 18, 2025: Vedanta Aluminium’s “Swarna Prashan” initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of AYUSH, has made a significant impact on the lives of over 22,000 students across Odisha since its launch in September 2024. The recent 5th phase of the programme benefited more than 5,000 students, enhancing their cognitive and physical development through Ayurvedic practices.
The programme, implemented in 13 government schools within the tribal-dominated Kalahandi district, utilizes ancient Ayurvedic remedies to support children’s growth and memory. With strong backing from local Ayurvedic authorities and school administrations, Swarna Prashan continues to make positive strides in underserved rural areas of Odisha, benefiting children who may otherwise lack access to such health initiatives.
Dr. Kshetra Kand, Ayurvedic Medical Officer of Kalahandi, praised the programme, saying, “Swarna Prashan plays a vital role in safeguarding children’s health, and Vedanta’s collaboration with the government ensures that children receive the holistic care they deserve.”
Sunil Gupta, Chief Operating Officer of Vedanta Aluminium, highlighted the lasting impact of these traditional interventions, noting, “The Swarna Prashan programme is deeply rooted in Ayurvedic principles, ensuring that children get the necessary support for their overall growth.”
The initiative is set to expand to Koraput district, reinforcing Vedanta’s commitment to the continued development of children’s health in Odisha’s rural communities.
