Bhubaneswar, 30.04.2025: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has shared big plans to turn the state into one of India’s top five industrial hubs by 2030. He spoke about these goals at the Steel India 2025 event held in Mumbai.
To bring in new investment, the state will auction 22 mines. Odisha also has a new industrial policy that promises easier rules and better financial support for businesses than many other states.
Majhi said that Odisha is becoming a strong part of India’s economy. At the “Utkarsh Odisha” event in January, the state received investment proposals worth ₹17 trillion, with a large part going to the steel industry.
Odisha also plans to raise its steel production from 41 million tonnes to 130 million tonnes by 2030. This would help the state contribute about half of India’s total steel output.
With these steps, Odisha hopes to grow its industries, create jobs, and attract more companies in the years ahead.
