Enterprise Odisha 2026 event began on 28th January in Rourkela, and it gave us a sneak peak about the upcoming growth that out State will witness. More than Rs 52,000 crore worth of investment proposals were announced at the event.
During the event, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects that totalled Rs 8884 crore. The projects included 11 industrial projects with total investment of Rs 5708 crore and another 9 projects with total investment of Rs 3176 crore. The above-mentioned projects are expected to offer employment to more than 6.6K people in Odisha.
Companies like Vedanta, JSW, Dalmia Cement, Tata Steel, and many more had participated in the event.
The CM has also handed an allotment letter for 1,447.927 acres land at Kamakhyanagar, Dhenkanal to Vedanta Aluminium Ltd. The company had received approval from 41st High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) for its proposal of 3 million tonne per annum (MTPA) aluminium smelter and 4,900 MW power plant project on the specific land.
CM Mohan Majhi via his X (formerly Twitter) post said, “Our government is committed to accelerating investment in Odisha through a policy-driven approach and creating a strong industrial ecosystem. In this context, today at Rourkela, I held positive discussions with various industrialists and stakeholders at the ‘Enterprise Odisha’ program. At the event, the inauguration and foundation-laying of 23 new industrial projects worth ₹35,880 crore will generate more than 11,844 new employment opportunities in the state.”
“Promoting innovation and ensuring inclusive industrial growth across every corner of the state is our key objective. We are continuously working to develop Odisha as an industrial hub of the country,” the CM added.
The increase in Industrial projects in Odisha will directly offer more jobs in the State. This also means that the section of people who worked in the manufacturing / industrial sector outside Odisha will have an option not to travel outside the State.
Enterprise Odisha 2026 began on 28th January and will continue till 30th January 2026 in Rourkela of Odisha. It represents 25 glorious editions of industrial development, entrepreneurship and increase in investment in the State.
