Bhubaneswar, 26/12/2024: Since the launch of its ambitious ‘Swarna Prashan’ healthcare initiative in partnership with the Ministry of AYUSH in September 2024, Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, has successfully completed its fourth phase, benefiting over 6,400 students. The latest phase has positively impacted more than 17,000 students across Odisha. In the tribal-dominated districts of Rayagada and Kalahandi, the campaign was introduced in 15 government schools.
Dr. Meenakshi Bedbak, District Medical Officer of Kalahandi, praised the Swarna Prashan programme for promoting Ayurvedic health practices for children’s well-being. She appreciated Vedanta Aluminium’s collaboration with the government and local communities to create a healthier future for the next generation.
Sunil Gupta, COO of Vedanta Aluminium, emphasized the company’s commitment to improving child health in underserved areas through the Swarna Prashan programme, which supports children’s cognitive and physical development based on Ayurvedic practices. Nitin Kumar Tiwari, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium’s Bauxite Mines, highlighted the positive reception of the initiative in 40 schools and plans to expand it to Koraput district, aiming to reach over 30,000 children by the end of the year, reinforcing their commitment to community development.
With support from the District Ayurveda Department and local schools, the Swarna Prashan programme showcases Vedanta Aluminium’s dedication to community development. By focusing on child health through traditional practices, the initiative provides lasting benefits for local families.
