Rourkela, 26/03/2025: Rourkela Steel Plant’s advanced Hot Strip Mill-2 (HSM-2) has demonstrated remarkable operational efficiency by optimizing its production processes. On March 24, the unit successfully rolled 9,427 tonnes of coils, reflecting its commitment to maintaining high productivity standards. This achievement follows a previous milestone of 9,372 tonnes set on October 30, 2023.
Additionally, the SSM-II Division recorded 9,638 tonnes, surpassing its previous best of 9,614 tonnes. This improvement has been driven by enhanced coordination among departments such as PPC, EMD, C&IT, Refractories, and Power. Contributions from Distribution, RCA RCL, Roll Supply, Materials Management, and Instrumentation & Automation have also played a crucial role in ensuring seamless operations.
Encouraged by this success, RSP’s leadership, including Dr. Alosha Shimta, has emphasized the importance of sustaining efficiency and innovation to achieve greater milestones in the future.
