Jharsuguda’s sports community got a big boost with the opening of a new administrative building for the District Athletic Association. Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, supported this project by contributing INR 50 lakh to help improve the region’s sports facilities. The new building will be used for planning training programs, organizing competitions, and developing young athletes. With this initiative, Vedanta aims to encourage sports and provide better opportunities for aspiring players in the district.
The inauguration event was attended by important guests, including Odisha’s Revenue Minister Shri Suresh Pujari, Commandant of OSAP 2nd Battalion Mr. Durgpati Prasad Tamang, and District Sports Vice President Mr. Bijay Das. Shri Pujari appreciated the new facility, saying it would help in the proper development of local athletes. Mr. Sunil Gupta, Chief Operating Officer of Vedanta Aluminium, also shared his thoughts, saying that the company believes in the power of sports to bring positive change and hopes the new facility will help young talents succeed at state and national levels.
