Bhubaneswar, Odisha, 07th August, 2025 – Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, is taking a bold step towards nurturing the next generation of rural leaders through a week-long youth-focused health education drive across Odisha. Rather than focusing solely on menstrual hygiene, the initiative was framed as a platform for developing leadership and life skills among adolescents, aiming to equip them with confidence and awareness to make informed decisions about their well-being.
Over 1,100 students from classes 6 to 10 in Jamkhani, Kuraloi, and Ghogharpalli participated in the programme. The sessions were designed to go beyond health facts, fostering communication, empathy, and critical thinking. Vedanta Aluminium’s employee volunteers took part not just as facilitators, but as mentors guiding students in conversations about body positivity, self-care, and community responsibility.
“Our focus is on cultivating young leaders who can take ownership of their health and become changemakers in their communities,” said Rajiv Kumar, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium. “This initiative blends health education with empowerment, allowing young minds to emerge with greater self-assurance and purpose.”
This youth-centric approach aligns with Vedanta Aluminium’s broader vision of community empowerment. By integrating education with leadership-building efforts, the company is nurturing a more proactive and resilient generation in rural Odisha.
