Bhubaneswar, Odisha; 9th September 2025 – Vedanta Aluminium, the country’s largest aluminium producer, organized a comprehensive one-day orientation program for teachers of Lakhanpur block at Mahima Degree College, Bijapali. Conducted in association with the Block Education Department, the program brought together more than 650 elementary teachers from across the block with the objective of strengthening teaching practices and improving the overall learning environment in schools.
The orientation was designed not just as a lecture-based event but as a hands-on learning experience. Teachers were trained in lesson planning, classroom management, and the creation of practical teaching materials that can be easily adapted to rural classroom settings. Special focus was given to the integration of modern technology in teaching, ensuring that educators are better equipped to prepare students for a changing world. Sessions also included training on disaster preparedness and first-aid, vital life skills that empower teachers to respond effectively in emergencies, thereby ensuring student safety.
Interactive discussions and group activities kept the program engaging, allowing teachers to share their own experiences and challenges while learning from peers. The participatory nature of the sessions ensured that teachers did not just receive knowledge passively, but also actively contributed to shaping best practices. At the close of the program, participants were presented with certificates, formally recognizing their efforts and dedication to enhancing education quality in the region.
The event was graced by senior officials from the Education Department, including Sashmita Sahu, Joint Director of OSEPA, and Amulya Kumar Padhan, Regional Director, DHSE, Sambalpur, who praised the initiative and encouraged teachers to continue upgrading their skills.
