Sijimali (Rayagada, Odisha), December 13/24: As part of its ongoing efforts to support education in Odisha’s remote areas, Vedanta Aluminium has distributed over 4,000 school kits to students from 50+ schools located near its Kuraloi and Sijimali mines in the tribal-dominated districts of Rayagada, Kalahandi, and Jharsuguda.
The study kits, designed to meet students’ academic needs, include a school bag, water bottle, notebook, geometry box, and additional stationery, giving students everything they need for their studies.
Janmejaya Sabar, Headmaster of Kathaghara High School, remarked, “Vedanta’s initiative to provide study materials is a game-changer. Our students often lack the necessary resources, but these kits will certainly inspire them to continue their schooling and overcome the challenges they face.”
In the area surrounding Vedanta’s Kuraloi coal mine, several villages received school kits. These include Kudaloi in Kudaloi GP, Piplimal, Liakhai, Ujalpur, Ulap in Piplimal GP, Banjari, Grindola, Chaurimahul, Bartap in Banjari GP, and Ward No. 17 within the limits of Belpahar Municipality.
A number of schools within the reach of Vedanta’s Sijimali coal mine area in Rayagada and Kalahandi districts have received school kits, including Naknudi School, Govt PS Melghara, Govt PS Kathaghora, and Govt UPS Chubadi.
Through its initiative of distributing essential study materials, Vedanta Aluminium has made a tangible difference, resulting in a remarkable increase in student attendance and overall educational involvement.
