Jharsuguda: Vedanta Aluminium has launched the Vedanta Martial Arts Training Centre in Jharsuguda to support young athletes and promote sports in the region. The centre will provide training in karate and judo, helping students learn self-defence, discipline, and fitness. With expert coaching, young participants will have the opportunity to compete in state, national, and international tournaments, opening doors for careers in sports, coaching, and even defence services.
At the launch event, several dignitaries, including Prabeer Kumar Nayak, Chief Development Officer of Jharsuguda, and Jeebananda Mohanty, Vice President of the District Hockey Association, praised Vedanta’s efforts. Sunil Gupta, Chief Operating Officer of Vedanta Aluminium, said that the company is committed to developing sports infrastructure and giving young people the chance to succeed. He emphasized that this initiative will help build confidence, resilience, and leadership skills among the youth.
Susanta Gupta, Head Coach of the training centre, shared that martial arts is more than just self-defence—it teaches perseverance and strong character. He expressed hope that the centre will produce talented athletes who can represent Jharsuguda at top competitions. Through this initiative, Vedanta Aluminium is creating a space where young people can grow, train, and achieve their dreams in the world of sports.
