Sijimali, Odisha, 16th December 2024: Vedanta Aluminium, the largest aluminium producer in India, has initiated a groundbreaking effort to improve healthcare accessibility for communities around the Sijimali Mine in Rayagada district, Odisha. Through the launch of mobile health units, the company has already reached over 3,300 people across 18 villages, bringing essential medical care to remote areas.
Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, these mobile health units have successfully conducted more than 120 health camps, providing a wide range of services, including health check-ups, diagnostics, and treatment for common ailments. This initiative is part of Vedanta Aluminium’s larger commitment to improving the health and quality of life for people in rural areas where healthcare access is limited.
The response from local residents has been overwhelmingly positive. Mrs. Basanti Bag, a community member, praised the mobile health units for addressing critical health issues and offering much-needed healthcare services in the area. Similarly, Sakara Majhi from Ambapada village expressed his gratitude, calling the mobile health units a “blessing” for the community, as they have made healthcare more accessible than ever before.
