Bhubaneswar : Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminum producer, has launched the third edition of its road safety awareness campaign ‘Suraksha Sarathi’ at the Samaleswari mine in Brajarajnagar. The event was organized in partnership with transport associations like Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), Brajrajnagar Truck Owners Association (BTOA), and Inani Coal Services Pvt Ltd. More than 500 truck drivers took part in the program and were honored as ‘Suraksha Sarathi’ for their role in promoting road safety. After receiving a positive response in Sundargarh district, the campaign continues to spread awareness among transporters.
Vedanta Aluminium COO, Sunil Gupta highlighted the company’s commitment to safety, stating that ‘Suraksha Sarathi’ aims to educate drivers and encourage safe driving habits. The program included engaging activities such as a street play featuring mythological figures Yamaraj and Chitragupta, a road safety quiz, distribution of safety kits, and a free health camp for drivers. These activities helped reinforce the importance of following traffic rules and maintaining road safety.
