Jharsuguda, 18/08/2025: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, marked the 79th Independence Day with great pride and enthusiasm at its Jharsuguda operations. The celebration was not just about hoisting the national flag, but also about spreading awareness, promoting self-reliance, and encouraging community participation.
In the week leading up to Independence Day, Vedanta organized a series of meaningful programs. A special self-defense workshop was conducted for women to build confidence and prepare them to handle difficult situations. Health awareness sessions were also arranged to educate people about best practices for leading a healthy lifestyle. To contribute towards a cleaner and greener future, saplings were planted by employees and community members.
The spirit of freedom was further highlighted through a marathon, a flag rally, and a bike rally in Jharsuguda city. These events witnessed active participation from Vedanta employees, business partners, and local residents, making it a celebration of unity and togetherness. The event was also graced by senior officials from the district administration, including the District Magistrate and other dignitaries.
On Independence Day, the company organized a grand ceremony that began with the unfurling of the national flag. The Plant Security Team showcased a disciplined march-past parade, followed by cultural programs filled with patriotic songs and dance performances. Employees from the Plant Security and Safety Team were honored for their outstanding service and dedication.
